The show moves the setting to the current era
"The Day of the Jackal" The novel is set in 1963 and featured the assassination attempt on then-French President Charles de Gaulle. Reference: Graham Norton and guests: Denzel Washington/Paul Mescal/Saoirse Ronan/Eddie Redmayne/Blossoms (2024).
The classy and intelligent performances and production values are top notch
I’ve never really followed Redmayne’s work before, but he’s exceptional in this drama. In fact, it’s so impressive that I’m wondering if Barbara Broccoli could be the next James Bond!
Still, it’s worth watching
I’ve seen episode 6 out of 10 so far. Unfortunately I have to agree with many other reviewers that Bianca’s character is not well developed and unfortunately this detracts somewhat from the overall quality of the show, taking it from a 9/10 to maybe an 8.
