Kraven’s complicated relationship with his ruthless father, Nikolai Kravinoff, leads him on a path of revenge with brutal consequences, leading him to become not only the world’s greatest hunter, but also one of Marvel’s most feared iconic antiheroes. There have been attempts to bring Kraven the Hunter to the big screen, but ultimately all have fallen through. Sam Raimi wanted him to appear in Spider-Man 4 before it was canceled, and Kraven’s spear appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) as a mock-up to his planned appearance in Sinister Six, which was also canceled.

As for the MCU, Ryan Coogler wanted to include it in Black Panther (2018), based on Christopher Priest’s Black Panther comic, but he was unable to secure the rights. The latest installment of the Spider-Man films, Kraven, offers superhero action, a bunch of predictable characters, and a subplot. Aaron Taylor-Johnson delivers a solid performance and impressive physicality. Russell Crowe is better than Thor: Love and Thunder.
The rest of the cast delivers decent performances
Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for Ariane DeBose (Calypso), whose delivery is so wooden that it elicited outright laughter in the theater. The same goes for the woman who played his grandmother, although at least she had the excuse of putting in a huge performance in her 3 minutes of screen time. Kudos to Sony for persevering in creating this cinematic universe despite its lackluster performance.
