Segel told Goldstein that he thought he would at least bring it to Ford, but at least he would get the word out that Harrison Ford had brought the project to him, generating interest from other famous actors. This is fun, pure and simple
Crisply written, great one-liners, enough confusion for middle-class people to keep it from becoming The Big Bang Theory, and a joy to watch. Yes, real therapists don’t behave like this, but anyone with a functioning brain cell will know that criticizing from that perspective is just a negative to bring down ratings. Are some of the characters stereotypical?
Finally, who knew what a great light-hearted comedian Harrison Ford was?
Yes, but no offense given and none to be taken, FYI, I worked with a gay guy who was the same stereotype shown here. The real success here is in blending the seriousness and sadness of therapy with the growing pains of life at different ages, stages, and life paths, and making it funny. A total revelation and the show is worth watching for him alone.
