When maple syrup farmer Ruth Landry finds her livelihood under attack from greedy competitors who were once her friends, she hatches a scheme to get revenge and shake up the industry. Loosely based on the 2011-2012 theft of $18 million worth of maple syrup from a warehouse in Quebec; five people were sentenced to prison.

tanks. I didn’t realize this was “Season 1.” I was led to believe it was a full story told in 6 episodes.
I realize I should have soaked this review in syrupy jokes, but maples are always sad because they’re so sloppy
The casting and production design are amazing, but it’s like the original Twin Peaks: there was once a “big crime”; solved, story over. Trying to paint it with side plots becomes painful, no matter how much we enjoy spending time with these strange characters.
