This animated anthology series features original stories set in the worlds of iconic video games. Video games have hit the screens in a big way, and we’re celebrating the genre with a closer look at over 50 video game adaptations into movies and shows. Clive Standen will be reprising his voice role as Demetrius Titus, the main character from the video game Space Marine 2. The episode takes place after the events of the game. Mentioned in Film Junk Podcast: Episode 973: Carry-On (2024). As a long-time fan of Tim Miller’s other show, Love Death + Robots, I was very excited about this. Then I started to notice that few stories could hold my attention for very long. They would just end right before anything interesting happens. I think the show would benefit from focusing more on the concepts and ideas of the games it adapts, rather than just showing how innovative and revolutionary these games are that you can play them instead of watching the show. I liked LDR because it took advantage of the short time it had to offer an amazing world and characters to get attached to, but the episodes here barely manage that. Plus, the animation is spectacular and the voice cast is great. I want to wait until the full set comes out before I start giving my opinion.
